I love my romance novels and I like reviewing them. I also like studying politics and history.

Although The Marquess of Cake uses a lot of the common tropes in historical fiction, I thought that this was a refreshing read. Both Michael and Alys were interesting but not annoyingly so. They were both pretty believable characters and even their fairytale-esque (not really, but they do meet with Michael being the rich, handsome lord and Alys being a serving girl) meeting was something that wasn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.
